Veeranarayana Temple, Belavadi

Veeranarayana Temple at Belavadi is a large, triple-shrine Hoysala temple built around 1200 CE. Dedicated to three forms of Vishnu — Veeranarayana, Prasanna Keshava, and Venugopala — it is one of the most complete and imposing Hoysala structures outside the main UNESCO trio.

The temple is known for its exquisite lathe-turned pillars inside the hall, which display extraordinary craftsmanship. The exterior wall sculptures, though slightly less ornate than those at Belur or Halebidu, are of exceptional quality. The temple is still in active use and is an important pilgrimage site in the Hassan region.
