At an altitude of 3,680 meters (12,073 ft), Tungnath is the highest Shiva temple in the world. It is the second of the Panch Kedar shrines, where the arms (bahu) of Shiva are believed to have emerged.
The ancient stone temple is small and austere, perfectly blending with the stark Himalayan landscape. The trek to Tungnath is renowned for its spectacular views of the Nanda Devi and Chaukhamba peaks.
