Thirunallar Saniswaran Temple

The Thirunallar Temple is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for devotees of Saturn (Shani). Legend says the great King Nala bathed in the temple tank here, washing away the curse of Shani, leading to the restoration of his kingdom.

The temple's main sanctum is for Lord Shiva as Darbaranyeswarar, but a separate Saniswaran shrine with Saturn's deity draws millions of devotees, especially during the Shani Jayanti and Amavasya days.
