Telkupi Temple Complex Submerged Ruins

Telkupi Temple Complex (ancient Tailampa) was a major 11th-century capital and temple city along the Damodar River in Purulia. Once containing over 20 stone Rekha deuls built by regional chieftains, most of the complex was submerged in 1959 by the Panchet Dam reservoir.

During low water periods, the stone spires of submerged temples emerge from the water like ancient sentinels — a haunting atmospheric archaeological site in Raghunathpur.
