Located adjacent to the historic Kangla Palace in Imphal, the Shree Shree Govindajee Temple is the principal Vaishnavite center of Manipur. Originally built in 1846 by Maharaja Nara Singh and rebuilt in 1891, the brick temple features two gold-plated domes, a wide assembly hall, and enshrines idols of Radha-Govinda, Balarama, Krishna, and Jagannatha.
