The Shiv Khori Temple is a cave shrine with a 150-metre-long cave containing a natural Shivalingam that is believed to be self-manifested (swayambhu). The cave has a naturally ventilated, temple-like chamber at its end with rock-cut images of Ganesha, Parvati, Brahma, Vishnu, and the Navagrahas.
The serpentine passage of the cave narrows and widens dramatically, creating a living metaphor for the spiritual journey to the divine. It receives millions of devotees, particularly during Shivratri.
