Rudra Mahalaya Temple, Siddhpur

Rudra Mahalaya (Rudramala) at Siddhpur was conceived by the great Solanki king Jayasimha Siddharaja in the 12th century as one of the grandest stone temple complexes in medieval India. Featuring eleven separate sanctums dedicated to eleven forms of Rudra (Shiva), the temple covered an enormous area and featured a large courtyard with ornate pillared mandapas. Though mostly destroyed in the 14th century, surviving columns, doorway fragments, and toranas display some of the finest Solanki stone craftsmanship.
