Roda Group of Temples

Roda Group of Temples in Sabarkantha district of Gujarat are 8th–9th century CE Maitraka-period stone temples — among the earliest surviving stone temple ensembles in Gujarat, predating the Solanki era by over a century. They feature early Nagara-style shikharas and carved doorways with Ganga-Yamuna river goddess figures.

Their relatively unadorned but powerful architectural language makes them precursors to the later exuberance of Solanki temple art at Modhera and Patan. The site was identified and documented by archaeologists in the 20th century.
