Pandrethan Temple

The Pandrethan Temple (ancient Puranadhishthana) is a 10th-century Kashmiri stone shrine that stands on a raised plinth surrounded by a sacred spring-fed pool near Srinagar. Its interior is remarkable for the elaborately carved corbelled ceiling with radiating bands of celestial figures, apsaras, and floral motifs — one of the finest medieval stone ceiling decorations in all of India. The temple's perfect reflection in the still water tank surrounding it creates a breathtaking visual effect.
