Palakollu Ksheerarama Temple

Palakollu Ksheerarama Temple is one of the five Pancharama Kshetras in Andhra Pradesh. The name Ksheerarama (milk-lingam) derives from the belief that the Shiva lingam was formed from a drop of divine milk (ksheera) during the cosmic battle between Shiva and the demon Tarakasura.

The temple has a tall richly carved gopuram and a large temple tank. Built during the Eastern Chalukya period, the complex includes shrines to Parvati, Subrahmanya, Ganapati, and Surya. A major pilgrimage site in coastal Andhra during Karthika Masam.
