Menal Temple Complex

Menal is a dramatic 11th-century temple complex perched on the rim of a deep gorge formed by the Menal stream in Rajasthan. The main temple, Mahanaleshwar Shiva Temple, was constructed during the Chahamana (Chauhan) dynasty period and features distinctive Māru-Gurjara carved shikharas. A seasonal waterfall cascades into the gorge beside the temple during the monsoons, creating an extraordinary natural and architectural spectacle.
