Meera Temple, Chittorgarh Fort

The Meera Temple in Chittorgarh Fort is dedicated to the legendary bhakti poetess Meerabai, who was a Rajput princess and ardent devotee of Krishna. She is said to have danced and sung here, rejecting all royal conventions in her total absorption in Krishna.

Adjacent to it is the Kumbha Shyam temple built by Rana Kumbha in the 15th century in the Indo-Aryan style. The Meera Temple features carvings depicting stories of her life and devotion, making it a pilgrimage site for devotees of both Mirabai and Krishna.
