The Mangueshi Temple is one of the most prominent and visited temples in Goa. Dedicated to Bhagavan Manguesh (an incarnation of Shiva), the original temple in Cortalim was destroyed by the Portuguese in 1567, prompting devotees to move the idol to its current location.
