Mangalagiri Panakala Narasimha Temple

The Panakala Narasimha Temple on the Mangalagiri hill is renowned for its unique deity — a rock face representing the mouth of Lord Narasimha. Devotees pour jaggery water (panakam) into the mouth, and remarkably, exactly half of the offering is always returned as prasad, regardless of the quantity offered.

The lower temple at the base of the hill features a massive 153-foot tall gopuram, one of the tallest in South India. The hill itself is considered to be shaped like an elephant.
