Lakshminarayana Temple, Hosaholalu

Lakshminarayana Temple at Hosaholalu is a beautifully preserved Hoysala temple built around 1250 CE. A triple-shrine structure dedicated to Veeranarayana, Lakshminarayana, and Dhanvantari (the physician form of Vishnu), it offers a rare opportunity to see a Hoysala temple that is both active and largely unrestored.

The exterior features the typical horizontal bands of Hoysala carvings, with the stellar plan creating a dynamic play of light and shadow on the surface. The interior pillars display the characteristic Hoysala turning precision. It is an excellent complement to the busier sites at Belur and Halebidu for those willing to explore the Hassan countryside.
