Kotai Sun Temple, Kutch

The Kotai Sun Temple in Kutch district is a 10th–11th century Solanki-period shrine standing in the remote desert landscape of western Gujarat. Dedicated to the Sun God Surya, the temple features a simple but elegantly proportioned Nagara shikhara and a carved doorway with river goddesses flanking the entrance. The temple's isolated desert setting and well-preserved sculptural panels make it an important lesser-known heritage site of Gujarat.
