Koranganatha Temple, Srinivasanallur

The Koranganatha Temple at Srinivasanallur on the banks of the Kaveri River is a 10th-century Early Chola masterpiece built by Parantaka Chola I. Its slender Dravida vimana with five diminishing tiers and an octagonal shikhara rises elegantly above the flat river plains. The exterior walls feature beautifully carved panels of the Sapta Matrika goddesses, Dakshinamurti Shiva, and Brahma in precise early Chola style — refined, elegant, and deeply devotional.
