Kokamthan Mahadev Temple near Kopargaon in Ahilya Nagar district is a 12th-century Hemadpanthi basalt shrine with a star-shaped plan (stellate layout). The exterior walls display carved band friezes of musicians, elephant rows, and Shaiva guardians.
The dry-interlocking basalt stone construction has survived earthquakes and centuries of weather.
