Veeranarayana Perumal Temple at Kattumannarkoil in Cuddalore district was built by Parantaka Chola I in the 10th century along the massive Veeranam Lake reservoir he constructed.
It is revered as the birthplace of Nathamuni (who compiled the 4,000 Divya Prabandham) and his grandson Yamunacharya — central figures in Sri Vaishnava spiritual history.
