Chitrakoot is a sacred forest city where Ram, Sita, and Lakshman are believed to have spent 11.5 of their 14 years of exile. The central feature is Kamadgiri, a holy hill believed to be Ram's refuge, encircled by temples in a 5 km pradakshina path.
