Kakanmath Temple

The Kakanmath Temple is a spectacular, towering ruin of an 11th-century Shiva temple in Sihoniya. Reaching a height of nearly 100 feet, the temple looks as if it is defying gravity—much of its outer masonry has fallen away, exposing the skeleton of its massive shikhara.

Built by the Kachchhapaghata rulers, the structure was assembled without any cement or mortar, relying entirely on the interlocking of massive stone blocks. Local legend claims it was built by ghosts in a single night.
