Jhalrapatan Surya Temple

Jhalrapatan Surya Temple (also called Padmanabha Temple) is a celebrated 10th-century stone Sun temple anchoring the historic town of Jhalrapatan. The temple is famous for its soaring 97-foot shikhara built in the Nagara style, adorned with miniature tower repetitions (urushringas).

The open rangamandapa features lathe-turned pillars, carved bracket celestials, and an icon of Lord Surya wearing Seven-Horse boots along with Vishnu as Padmanabha. It is the architectural crown of the Hadoti region.
