The Hidimba Devi Temple is a unique wooden temple built around a cave in a cedar forest in Manali. It is dedicated to Hidimba, the demon-goddess who became the wife of Bhima from the Mahabharata.
Built in 1553 CE, it features a distinctive four-tiered pagoda roof made of wooden planks. The temple has no idol; rather, a huge footprint on a stone inside the cave is worshipped as the manifestation of the deity.
