Gondeshwar Temple, Sinnar

Gondeshwar Temple at Sinnar, near Nashik, is widely considered the finest and most complete example of Hemadpanthi Panchayatana (five-shrine) architecture in Maharashtra. Built in the 11th–12th centuries under the Seuna Yadava dynasty, the central Shiva temple is surrounded by four subsidiary shrines dedicated to Vishnu, Ganesh, Parvati, and Surya. The stone carvings covering the exterior walls display exceptional sculptural quality depicting celestial beings, amorous couples, and mythological narratives.
