Ghanpur Group of Temples

Ghanpur Group of Temples in Mulugu district of Telangana is a remarkable Kakatiya-era cluster featuring the Kota Gudi (fortress temple) complex — built simultaneously with the famous Ramappa Temple nearby, using the same Kakatiya innovation of porous floating bricks that make structures earthquake-resistant.

The surviving temples include a large Shiva temple with distinctive stellate plan and three subsidiary shrines. The sculptural fragments — Natarajas, Ganesha panels, Dvarapala guardians — are of extraordinary quality and can be seen in the ASI site museum.
