Galageshwara Temple, Galaganatha

The Galageshwara Temple complex at Galaganatha on the banks of the Tungabhadra River is one of Karnataka's finest 11th-century Western Chalukya temple groups. The main Galageshwara Shiva temple, a subsidiary Siddhesvara temple, and several smaller shrines stand along a beautiful riverside setting. The temples feature typical Chalukyan rich decoration of mithuna figures, kirtimukha medallions, and elegant tower silhouettes reflected in the sacred river.
