Ennayiram Azhagiya Narasimha Perumal Temple in Viluppuram district is an 11th-century Chola temple famous for holding Rajendra Chola I grand 1023 CE inscription — which details the establishment of a premier Vedic university (vidyasthana) for 340 students and 14 teachers supported by royal land grants.

It is one of the most important epigraphical sources on educational institutions in medieval South India.
