The Dhabaleswar Temple is a revered Shiva shrine located on an island in the middle of the Mahanadi river near Cuttack. Pilgrims reach it by rope bridge — one of the longest pedestrian rope bridges in India — which adds to the adventure of the pilgrimage.
The temple is at its most vibrant during the Shivratri festival when hundreds of thousands of devotees cross the rope bridge to offer prayers.
