The Devi Jagadambi Temple at Khajuraho, built in the early 10th–11th century CE under the Chandela dynasty, is one of the finest temples in the Western Group. Though originally dedicated to Vishnu, the presiding deity is now Parvati (Devi Jagadambi).
The temple follows the panchratha (five-projection) plan with a tripartite elevation rising in clusters of spires. The upper tier includes exceptional figures of apsaras in various poses — some considered among the finest sculptural creations of the Chandela period.
