Budhpur Ganesh & Shiva Temples

Budhpur Ganesh & Shiva Temples in Purulia district preserve 10th-century stone Rekha deuls on the Kasai River. Built during the Pala-Sena era, the site houses a massive stone Ganesha idol and a Shiva shrine constructed from dark granite-basalt blocks without mortar.

Carved door lintels depict Gajalakshmi and guardians, showing early Kalinga influence in western Bengal before the advent of terracotta temple architecture.
