The Bucheshvara Temple at Koravangala is a stunning example of 12th-century Hoysala architecture. It was commissioned by an officer named Buchiraja in 1173 CE to celebrate the coronation of King Veera Ballala II.
Built from soapstone, it follows a simple dvi-kuta (two-shrine) plan. However, its exterior is heavily decorated with signature Hoysala intricate carvings, including bands of swans, makaras, and deities.
