Perched on the spectacular Biligiri Rangana Hills at 5,000 feet, the Biligiri Rangaswamy Temple is a Vaishnava shrine dedicated to Lord Vishnu as Ranganatha. The shrine is within the Biligiri Rangana Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the few places where the Eastern and Western Ghats meet.
The temple is deeply sacred to the Soliga tribal community who are the traditional caretakers of the forest. A major festival takes place here during the Brahmotsava season.
