Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple

The Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple at the foot of Nandi Hills is one of the oldest and most architecturally significant temples near Bangalore. The complex grew over twelve centuries under successive dynasties — Gangas, Hoysalas, Vijayanagara kings, and the Marathas — each contributing distinct artistic styles.

The three main shrines represent the three aspects of Shiva: Bala Ganga (child), Yuva Ganga (youth), and Vridda Ganga (old age). The temple is an extraordinary lesson in the evolution of South Indian temple architecture.
