The Baladevjew Temple is the most important temple in Kendrapara district, dedicated to Lord Balabhadra (Balarama), the elder brother of Lord Krishna. It is one of the few major temples in Odisha primarily dedicated to Balabhadra.
The temple is similar in conception to the Jagannath Temple in Puri. The annual Car Festival (Rath Yatra) held here is a major event drawing thousands of pilgrims from across coastal Odisha.
