About
Baijnath Temple Complex on the banks of the Gomti River in Bageshwar district was built by Katyuri kings in the 12th century. The main temple is dedicated to Vaidyanath (Shiva as healer), housing a magnificent dark stone idol of Parvati.
Surrounding shrines create a riverside complex set against snow-capped Himalayan peaks, serving as the historical capital of the Katyuri dynasty.
