Bagali Kalleshwara Temple

Bagali Kalleshwara Temple in Vijayanagara district is a 10th-century stone shrine documenting the transition between Rashtrakuta and Kalyani Chalukya architectural traditions. One of the rare well-preserved Rashtrakuta-era stone temples in this region.

Its architecture shows early Nagara influences incorporating Vesara elements. Carved wall niches contain Shiva images; the doorway flanked by river goddesses Ganga and Yamuna. Inscriptions of historical significance are also found on the site.
