Ashapuri Temple Group near Bhojpur in Raisen district is a remarkable open-air archaeological complex featuring ruins of 26 stone temples destroyed in medieval conflicts. Excavations revealed thousands of carved architectural elements — pillars, doorframes, apsara brackets, and massive Vishnu-Shiva images.
The ASI has created an open-air museum detailing Pratihara and Paramara stone artistry at Ashapuri.
